It’s not uncommon to see dramatic weight loss pictures where people have dropped tens of hundreds of pounds. They’re very impressive, but as mom and fitness blogger Adrienne Osuna proves, numbers often don’t mean a thing.
This mother of four struggled with her weight for years before getting serious about her health, adopting a rigorous schedule of power lifting and cardio to gain muscle and a sizable following.
But one picture in particular that she posted to her blog went viral for pointing out that weight is a misleading goal.
It shows her before she started lifting and after an impressive physical transformation thatresulted in a staggering one pound weight loss.
Yes, you’re probably thinking the math is a little fuzzy two pounds! but there’s an explanation.
Osuna’s pic was copied from her blog and blew up all over the Internet on Facebook, Twitter, Imgur, and more without giving her credit.
Looking to reclaim it, she sharedit on her own Instagram to help spread her message even further, fixing the numbers to point out an additional pound she had lost in the interim.
And it wasn’t a vanity thing, but rather that the Internet can stink and her picture was being used in advertisements for weight loss products, which she’s never used.
“But I DID NOT use anyone’s products to do this…in fact I didn’t even diet to do this,” she said. “This was all hard work in the gym lifting heavy weights and intermittent fasting.”
It’s just another great reminder that weight really is just a number. The most important thing is that you’re healthy inside and out.
